With Silence we took a modular approach. Because the play goes to lots of locations, all scenery and large props were multi-purpose.
The play is about class, gender identity, paganism, duality and Christianity.
With scenery I was inspired by the medieval architecture of Norway and England, we decided on a series of three arches on casters, two church pews and two backless benches.
These pieces were used in different formations to take us to a chapel, a barrow, the king’s chamber and several other locations.
